Prerequisite: Searching the Scriptures - Patterns I
Summary: This is the Intermediate course that follows "Searching the Scriptures: Patterns I." You are now beginning to approach Scripture the way the first Christians would have "heard" the words of Jesus and Paul. And you are learning to see "patterns" in the biblical text. These first Christians were Jews whose Holy Writings were the Hebrew Scriptures because the New Testament had not been written. They were living the gospel of Christ. They were walking by the Spirit in joy and thanksgiving because they understood all the promises that had been fulfilled in Christ, and were being fulfilled in those with faith in Christ.
In this Intermediate course, you will continue to learn how to think in a Hebraic way. You don't need to "know" Hebrew. Instead, your instructor will explain the various differences between the Hebraic way of thinking and responding to Scripture on one hand, and the Greek, modern, western way that we have been taught on the other. But the heart of the course is practice. So be prepared to practice what you are learning.
