The Certification Programs involve fewer courses and less time than a Degree Program and are narrower in scope. Each person has a unique calling. Therefore, the Bible Learning University is continually developing different certification programs to meet the specific directions of these callings.
CURRENT CERTIFICATION PROGRAM How to Search the Scriptures
At the present time we offer a certification program on How to Search the Scriptures, which you will find is quite different from traditional Bible study programs and university hermeneutics courses. There are two required core courses, "Searching the Scriptures: Patterns I" and "Searching the Scriptures: Patterns II."
Dr. Anne Davis has re-created first century methods of searching the Scriptures, which has led her to several conclusions.
The New Testament is very Hebraic in its thought and methods of presentation. This should come as no surprise since the authors of the NT were, for the most part, Jews who knew the Hebrew Scriptures intimately. However, this understanding has largely been lost in the Christian tradition.
The two testaments are not separate, nor is the “old” merely foundational for the “new.” The two testaments are one message from God.
Since the NT has, by some accounts, over 300 citations from the Old Testament (which we prefer to call the Hebrew Scriptures), one must be thoroughly grounded in the Hebrew Scriptures in order to fully appreciate the New Testament.
You will be learning these first century methods of searching the Scriptures by practicing them. The goal is for you to become familiar not only with the first century, the time of Yeshua, but you will also become immersed in the Hebrew Scrptures as well.. (We will use the Hebrew name for Jesus in this particular certification program, which is teaching you how to think with a first century mind). There are, in fact, two goals for this certification program. One is to show you how to penetrate deeper aspects of meaning in Scripture. The second is to encourage you to grow in wisdom for living in harmony with God.

AFTER ENROLLING IN A CERTIFICATION PROGRAM:
You will receive an Advisor who will guide you through the program.
Every certification program has 1 or 2 core courses that are required.
Together with your Advisor you will identify the goal you wish to achieve through the certification program you have selected.
You and your Advisor will then choose additional courses (in addition to the core requirement) and also practical learning experiences to achieve the goal of your certification program.
