“Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he<\/p>\n\n\n\n

gave thanks and broke them. Then he gave them to the disciples to<\/p>\n\n\n\n

distribute to the people.” – Luke 9:16<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let us reflect on the miracle of the loaves and fishes. Rabbi Dr. Koplitz <\/p>\n\n\n\n

offers a powerful interpretation of this story, suggesting that the miracle is not only about the multiplication of food. It is about the act of sharing. In that time, people often carried provisions with them. The miracle, then, might have been Jesus inspiring the crowd to share what they already had.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is a powerful reminder that often we possess the resources to help others; we simply need the encouragement to share them. This act of sharing extends beyond just food. It encompasses our time, our skills, our resources, and our compassion. When we see a need, are we willing to offer what we have, even if it seems small? Just like the boy with five loaves and two fish, what we offer, when given with a generous heart, can make a profound difference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

offering a compliment, helping a neighbor with a chore, or donating<\/p>\n\n\n\n

to a local charity. Consider sharing your time and effort by visiting<\/p>\n\n\n\n

people in retirement homes or helping with home repairs for those<\/p>\n\n\n\n

who can’t afford it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
