There is no historical information about the prophet Nahum including where he came from or the surrounding events in which he composed his writings. Nevertheless, his message not only applied to the people of Israel at the time he prophesied but also has clear application for our lives today. Furthermore, there is much prophetic information about God’s future wrath and judgment that will begin with His people and will then encompass the world. It is clear from Nahum that all of God’s children will have to face the burning anger of God for all ungodly actions before comfort and consolation will then be given to a remnant. The concept of a remnant is clear in Nahum, but what is also clear is that all of God’s children will eventually experience God’s comfort and consolation in the end of time. The study ends with thoughts on the purpose of tribulation in our lives today and in the Great Tribulation to come.
